Fox News reports that Donald Trump has clinched enough delegates to officially become the Republican nominee for president. In order to receive the nomination, a candidate must receive 1,237 delegates. Donald Trump now has 1,238.

The Associated Press reports:
"Trump was put over the top by a small number of the party's unbound delegates who told the AP they would support him at the convention."

While Trump has the right amount of delegates to become the official nominee, he still needs to be awarded the nomination at the Republican Party National Convention, which takes place this summer.

My Two Cents

I'm really not surprised by any of this. Trump has appealed himself to the lowest common denominator, and he made it "cool" to be a hateful and spineless bigot.

It will be the saddest day in American history if he is elected President.
