Kirk Cameron's "Saving Christmas" sweeps the Razzie Awards.

Image
photo credit: thegodlessathiest In no surprise to anyone with half a brain, Kirk Cameron's (failed) attempt to put Jeebus Christ back into Christmas has earned the 'Worst Picture,' 'Worst Actor," "Worst Screenplay," and Worst Screen Combo" awards. The movie still holds a straight zero rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics from the LA Times said that the movie looks like it was just thrown together, like a 'empty-the-fridge-and-put-it-in-the-slow-cooker-with-rat-poison' type of production. Whether or not Mr. Cameron showed up to the awards show remains to be seen. Other movies that were honored at the Razzie Awards included: "Annie" "The Expendables 3" "Transformers: Age of Extinction" "The Other Woman" "Sex Tape" "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" My Two Cents: This does not surprise me one bit. I'm pretty sure even Jeebus himself is mortified by Kirk Cameron's

Geraldo Rivera's racist 'foot-in-mouth' disease angers the masses.

Image
photo credit: People Geraldo Rivera seems to be suffering from racist 'foot-in-mouth' disease these days. On Tuesday, Rivera opened his yap on Huffington Post Live, and said this : "Hip-hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racism in the last 10 years, When you find the youngster, a Puerto Rican from the South Bronx or black kid from Harlem, who has succeeded in life other than being the one-tenth of one-tenth of one percent that make it in the music business... that's been a success in life, walking around with his pants around his ass and with visible tattoos." Apparently, Geraldo Rivera still lives in the decade where anyone of color is either from Harlem or the south Bronx, and they all walk around with their pants down to their ankles, showing their asses. Rivera wasn't done with his BS, however. He then made the typical 'white racist cover-up,' by name dropping his most famous black friend: "I love Russell Simmon

Woman gains World Record Status for catching the most bridal bouquets.

photo credit: Jezebel A woman in Utah just became a world record holder for catching an astounding 46 bouquets . Jamie Jackson has been catching bouquets since 1996, and after catching her 46th bouquet, she submitted an application to Guiness World Records, with the documentation to prove it. The previous record was held by Stephanie Monyak, who caught 11 bouquets. Jackson told officials that she has attended around 100 weddings, and she has a special strategy for being the bouquet catcher. "My strategy is to be right up in the front because a lot of time the brides don't know how far they are going to throw it. A lot of times it will hit a ceiling, it'll hit a chandelier ... I've had many, many catches where I've had to jump for it. And I've hit little kids by accident." She said that 44 out of the 46 couples who married are STILL married. She credits herself for the longetivity of their marriages. Those in her circle believe that Jackson is just sta

photo credit: datesphere Good morning everyone! I know I haven't posted in a while and I am so sorry for that. I have been hard at work writing articles for a client. Also, I have been in a lot of pain lately, and I have been trying to manage the pain. Yesterday, I had a visit with a new doctor and the doctor is super nice. He is eager to help me. Unfortunately, I might have Lupus. I have a lot of the symptoms, including the slight butterfly rash on my face. I am going for an ANA blood test next week, so I will know for sure soon. The doctor is also going to be referring me to a GI doctor, lady doctor, and a psychologist. With everything going on with my health, I am desperate to get back into therapy, so I can talk about all of this, and get some advice on how to lower my stress. Anyways, I know I haven't given any updates on the book I'm writing. The outline of the book is done. I just need to type it up. The book will be available soon. I don't know when

I (ME) Wed: Women who marry themselves (Empowering or weird?)

Image
photo credit: lagranciudad I don't know about you, but I have been noticing a rise in women who have been marrying themselves. Women go through the normal marriage routine. Only difference is, they are promising to love, honor, and obey: themselves. Yasmin Eleby of Texas did just that after her 40th birthday. Eleby pledged that if she hadn't gotten married by the time she turned 40, she would marry herself. She got married on January 3, at the Houston Museum of African American Culture. She had 10 bridesmaids and a large cake. Her sister, who happens to be a minister, officiated the ceremony. For those of you who were wondering, self-marriage is not legal in the US. Still, Yasmin Eleby wanted to commit to her happiness, which is something I find extremely empowering. photo credit: blacksportsonline My Two Cents: I find it absolutely beautiful when a woman vows to be happy with herself. There are so many negative messages in this world, and so many reasons why
