What is "Glamping?"

photo credit: thehoneymoonblog On last night's "Hell's Kitchen," a new term came into my life: "glamping." Glamping is a light-weight form of camping. Glamping consists of folks "roughing it" in designer tents, with similar amenities, such as those in hotel rooms. I'm talking high class lamps, appliances, climate control, electrical power, and more. The glamping experience does consist of your normal camping excursions, but it is tailored to those who don't like the idea of roughing it with the bugs and wildlife. I can see some of the elite and more materialistic folks in this world taking advantage of glamping, but, I'm sorry, glamping is NOT camping. It's pretty much a 5 star hotel outdoors. ACTUAL camping consists of tents, bugs, wildlife, no climate control, and no electricity. Camping is all about being close to nature. It's about experiencing all of nature's beauty.
