Man dies in car crash after watching porn while driving.

Image
A Detroit man died in a car crash after watching porn on his phone while driving. In the early morning hours on Sunday, 58-year-old Clifford Ray Jones lost control of his car and was ejected after it rolled over. Police say that he was not wearing a seatbelt...or pants. They state that after examining his phone, it was concluded that he was watching pornography. No one else was involved in the crash. My Two Cents: This is why you can't watch "Backdoor Teen Mom" while driving. Let this be a lesson to you all: Hold the wank-fest until you've reached your final destination (or at least pull over before you 'pull it out).' This message brought to you by: common sense.

Doomsday clock to stay at three minutes to midnight.

Image
Members of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists announced earlier today that the infamous doomsday clock will stay at three minutes to midnight. The Doomsday Clock has long been a metaphor for the end of the world. Last year, the clock was set at 11:57pm, which is the closest the clock has been to midnight since the 1980s. Scientists have several reasons as to why the clock is staying at 11:57pm. They cited the tension between the United States and Russia. They also considered North Korea and their interests in testing nuclear weapons. Global warming was also mentioned as a major reason. NASA recently stated that 2015 was the warmest year on record. While maintaining the same time as last year may seem like good news, scientists at the Bulletin stated that the stance is not good news. The Bulletin stated that in order to move the clock backward, spending on nuclear weapons programs would have to be substantially reduced. Countries would need to work together on nuclear disarma

A reboot of 'Labyrinth' is in the works.

Image
Recently, it was announced that a reboot of the 1986 cult classic was in the works. Of course, this news comes (naturally) after David Bowie passed away. Not much is known about what the reboot will be about, but the script will be written by Nicole Perlman, who co-wrote 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' My Two Cents I find it terribly suspicious that they announce this right after David Bowie's passing. Are people trying to profit off of one of the most tragic losses of our generation? If so, Hollywood has just proven that it has no soul. Should there be a reboot of the movie? God I hope not. I mean, they can find anyone to play Sarah and the baby, but they will never find a more finer goblin king than Bowie himself. Sorry Hollywood. You are scum.

The importance of keeping your cat's ears clean.

Image
Those of us who are cat parents want the best for our furbabies. We want to make sure they have all the food they need to stay healthy. We make sure they always have plenty of water to drink. We also make sure that they are warm enough in their beds. Their health and well-being are of the utmost importance. Through all the busyness of life, however, certain areas may be accidentally overlooked, such as the health of the cat's ears. Cats rely on their ears in order to hear the sounds around them. The ears are also important for overall health and well-being. It is important to maintain cleanliness of the ears on a weekly basis. When examining your cat's ears, make sure that the cat's outer ear has no bald spots. When examining the inner ear, make sure that the inner surface is light pink and clean. Cleaning your cat's ears Your furbaby may be a tad squirmy during this time, so it is important to pet them and talk to them in a soothing voice. Grab a vet-reco

Keeping your pets safe during winter storms.

Image
News of the blizzard has swept the nation, and those of us on the east coast are scrambling to get everything we need to ride out the storm. While it is important to have what we need to keep our human family members safe, it is equally as important to prepare our pet family members for the incoming storm. It is recommended that all pets come indoors during inclement weather. If you are pet parents to full-time outdoor cats and dogs (meaning strays), it is important to get them prepared in advance of the storm. The Humane Society shares the following tips to help you protect your furbabies: Protect your outdoor pets by keeping them in a draft-free and dry structure. Make sure it is large enough for them to move around and lie down in. Be sure that the structure is not facing wind. You can cover the structure's doorway with heavy plastic or burlap that is waterproof. The structure should be a few inches off the ground. Cover the floor of the enclosure with straw or cedar

Actress Jena Malone announces pregnancy in the most beautiful way.

Image
Remember that girl who played the younger version of Jodie Foster in "Contact?" Well, she is all grown up now, playing bad ass characters in films like The Hunger Games. Right now, the 31-year-old is gearing up for the greatest role of all: motherhood. Malone announced her pregnancy via Instagram, posting photos of her baby bump, along with a poem: "Womb to womb To beating wing I climbed out of the eternal And into the shape of me Some words I wrote years ago when I was thinking about my own mother. And the woman she was when she had me. And the woman I was reaching to become. The shape your desires make out of you. The body you become to hold your dreams. It's with two feet firmly on the ground and a heart swelling in an ocean of love that I'd like to share the new shape I am becoming to hold the greatest dream of them all." The photos were taken by her boyfriend (and baby daddy) Ethan DeLorenzo. Congrats to the couple!

Review: Mary Lambert's song "Ribcage."

Image
Mary Lambert is a soulful singer and songwriter who entered the scene in 2011. She is a self-taught pianist, and she began writing songs at the tender age of 6. Her songs are a glimpse into her past. Lambert's song, "Ribcage," is her newest hit, and it talks about a time when someone tried to profit off of her abusive past. Some time ago, she talked about her past with someone that was assumed trustworthy. That person decided to make money off of it, leaving Lambert feeling exposed. It was like she was reliving the abuse over and over again. To have something like that happen, how is one able to trust another human being? I already had somewhat of a connection to the song because I had a similar upbringing (not the sexual abuse, but the physical and mental abuse). "Ribcage" really spoke to the deepest ends of my soul. I thank Mary Lambert for sharing her past in her music. It definitely helps listeners relate to her on a deeper level. The video is just

Is Yahoo involved in the ivory trade?

Image
According to recent petitions making rounds throughout the web, the website might be. Within the past couple of days, disturbing reports of ivory being sold on the site have made many conservationists around the world create petitions in an attempt to stop the dealings and save the elephants. Elephants are already on the brink of extinction, and those who are involved in ivory trade are sending this majestic animal into extinction. In Yahoo! Japan, ivory sales are already bringing in big money. Unfortunately for Yahoo, they know that the truth about their involvement in ivory trading is about to be revealed. Even the CEO of Yahoo is bribing employees with money in order for them to stay. I understand that none of this may interest you, but it makes my blood boil knowing that a site that I use everyday is involved in this trade. If you want to get involved, you can read more about this issue and sign one of the many petitions that are going around. Here's one on Avaaz th

How to "Unfollow" a friend on Facebook without "Unfriending" them.

Image
All of us have at least one person on our Facebook friends list that does the following: -Revealing too much information about their life. -Constantly complaining about everything. -Posting too many memes. -Talking crap about an acquaintance/family member. It can be rather tiresome to come onto Facebook and see the drama spewing forth from their end of the internet. While you do not want to be rude and delete the person, you also do not want to get stuck seeing their business everyday. So, what is a person to do? I found, by accident, that you can "unfollow" a person without "unfriending" them. By "unfollowing" a person, you will only see the information that they share publicly (it will have the world symbol next to the time the submitted their post). To "unfollow" a person, simply go to the person's profile and click "following (the button is located on the cover photo)." You will see a drop down menu. Choose

Would Candace Cameron Bure be 'on board' with a LGBT storyline on 'Fuller House?'

Image
We all know how deeply conservative Candace Cameron Bure is. For the past several years, she has been extremely vocal about her Christian faith. Now that she is returning to sitcom TV, would she be able to handle being on a show that has an LGBT plotline? That was the question that was asked of Candace Cameron Bure at a Television Critics Association sit down with fellow cast members Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin. Show producer Jeff Franklin said that an LGBT-inclusive plot line would be a "possibility." Candace Cameron Bure said this about the possibility of an LGBT plot line: "I’m always defending religious freedom and that’s what I was talking about on 'The View.' I didn’t describe my personal feelings about [marriage equality]. But I’m an actress on a television show and I support all things that we go through as human beings and would love all our characters to explore whatever issues that are current in our culture and our society today and I’m

Breaking: 'Eagles' guitarist Glenn Frey has died.

Image
According to several media  sources , it is being reported that the guitarist and member of the band 'The Eagles' has died. He was 67. He had been suffering from intestinal issues for several months. After having surgery, it was reported that his condition worsened. Frey and the rest of the band were scheduled to receive a Kennedy Center award once Frey recovered. Glenn Frey was the brains behind such hits as: "Tequila Sunrise," "Lyin Eyes," and "Take it Easy." RIP Glenn Frey. Thank you for "Take it Easy." Love that song!

'Girl Meets World' star Rowan Blanchard opens up about her sexuality.

Image
Rowan Blanchard has proven time and time again that she is an old soul, despite being only 14. Last year, she penned a letter supporting feminism. Her speech matches that of a Harvard graduate, and she has risen above what the naysayers say about her. Now, she is opening up about a topic that is rather taboo when it consists of a 14 year old girl: their sexuality. The 'Girl Meets World' star revealed in a post the following: "In my life—only ever liked boys. However I personally don't wanna label myself as straight, gay or whateva so I am not gonna give myself labels to stick with—just existing;). Yes, [I'm] open to liking any gender in future is why I identify as queer." Fans of Blanchard's came out in support of her reveal , as one requested that there be a "BisexualRileyMatthews2k16." (Referring to her character, Riley Matthews on GMW). The actress was in support of that idea. My Two Cents: The more I read about this young woman,

Celine Dion's brother passes away, days after husband Rene Angelil.

Image
If there is one person who is having the worst week ever, it is Celine Dion. A few days ago, her husband Rene Angelil passed away from cancer. Less than a day after his death, news broke Celine Dion's brother Daniel was dying of cancer. Sadly, Celine Dion's brother has just passed away after battling cancer. He was 59. Celine is currently making arrangements for both funerals. My Two Cents: Since the news of her brother came out, I have been feeling so sad for Celine Dion and her family. I cannot imagine losing two loved ones to cancer within the same week. I ask all of you to send a bit of love and light Celine Dion's way. RIP to both Rene Angelil and Dion's brother, Daniel. PS: Cancer f*cking sucks by the way!

Woman creates GoFundMe page to raise money she lost playing Powerball.

Image
Cinnamon Nicole from Cordova, TN created the page after spending her life savings on Powerball tickets. She bought as many tickets as she could in order to win the $1.6 billion jackpot (she was sure that she would win). She later found out that the winning tickets were sold in California, Florida, and Tennessee. Nicole claims to be stuck and unable to go home because she is flat broke. She made the GoFundMe page, and in 7 hours, was able to raise $800. The following is the welcome message on her page: "Please help me and my family as we have exhausted all of our funds. We spent all of our money on lottery tickets (expecting to win the 1.5 billion) and are now in dire need of cash. With your small donation of at least $1.00, a like  and one share, I’m certain that we will be able to pick ourselves up from the trenches of this lost and spend another fortune trying to hit it big again! PLEASE, won’t you help a family in need. DONATE NOW." She also says that anyone who

Dustin Diamond begins jail sentence

Image
The 'Saved by the Bell' star reported to jail on Friday to serve a 4 month jail sentence for stabbing a man in 2014. Diamond stated in his testimony that he was trying to protect his girlfriend from a group of men. He pulled out his pocket knife and accidentally stabbed one of the men. He was supposed to start his jail sentence during the summer of 2015, but the sentence was put on hold, as Diamond filed an appeal with the judge. Last month, he withdrew his appeal. My Two Cents: I honestly don't see Screech doing well in prison. What do you think?

How to handle a Crohn's flare.

Image
Crohn's disease is a life-long inflammatory disease that affects the intestines, although it can affect any part of the digestive tract. The inflammation associated with Crohn's can extend into the lining where the disease has been detected. The swelling and inflammation can cause the individual abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. There is no cure for this disease, but it can be treated with medication. Unfortunately, even with medication, individuals can still experience random flare ups. These flare ups can happen at any time. The flare ups are painful, unpleasant, and makes you feel like you are dying. While there are over-the-counter medications to help ease the symptoms of diarrhea, pain, and fever, there are other things that sufferers can do to make things more comfortable as the flare up passes. Heating pad As a fellow Crohn's patient (I have the disease in my intestines and stomach lining), I've found that a heating pad does help with eas

Breaking: Alan Rickman has passed away.

Image
British actor Alan Rickman has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 69 years old. Rickman was one of the most-beloved actors to come from Britain. His roles in Die Hard, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, helped put this man on the global map. It wasn't until he landed the role of Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series, where he achieved super stardom. Co-stars and friends of Alan Rickman began paying tribute to the late Rickman as soon as Rickman's family members broke the news. James Phelps, who played Fred Weasley, said that he was "shocked and sad" to hear of Rickman's passing. Stephen Fry posted that Rickman will be "sorely missed." Across the world, Rickman will be remembered as a legendary actor. He will most certainly be missed, but his legacy will live on. RIP Alan Rickman.

"Heroes Reborn" will not be back for a second season.

Image
NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt confirmed on Wednesday that Heroes Reborn, a revival of the original hit TV show Heroes, will not be back for an additional season. The TV show was a hit when it first premiered, but the fire quickly dwindled and eventually burnt out. Not only will this installment end, the actual franchise may be coming to an end. Hints have been dropped by Greenblatt and the show's creator for some time. The series finale will air on January 21. What has been said about the finale is that if another installment were to be made, it will be easy to pick up where they left off. In laymen's terms: Fans will just have to wait and see.

Farrah Abraham involves daughter in fight against Nicki Minaj

Image
Things seem to be getting pretty ugly between the 'Teen Mom' star and the 'Anaconda' singer. A day after Minaj called Abraham a c*nt, Farrah Abraham enlisted her 6 year old daughter Sophia in schooling Minaj in how to speak. In the footage that Abraham shot, Sophia called Minaj a "total loser." In the caption of the video, Abraham put: "Nicki Minaj Don't say bad WORDS , I don't." The video was also posted to the 6 year old's Twitter page (yes, the kindergartener has a Twitter page). Sophia pleaded with Minaj to "please stop saying bad WORDS." My Two Cents: I have been following this feud since it started, and the reason why I haven't written about it until now is because it wasn't worth my time. Unfortunately, seeing as how Abraham is coaching her child to bully another person, I need to get a word in. I think it was a poor decision on Abraham's part to include her daughter in this fight. The fight

Man carpools with mannequin through East Windsor, Connecticut.

Image
Officers in East Windsor, CT were involved in a very strange traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon. The officers pulled over a man who had a mannequin sitting in the passenger side of the car. The mannequin was all decked out with sunglasses and a drawn goatee on its face. It also had its seatbelt fastened. The officers got a good laugh at the situation, and the driver posed with the mannequin for some photos. East Windsor police posted the photos to social media, asking them why they think the driver had a mannequin in his car. Many folks thought it was to drive in the HOV lane. That guess was incorrect. The real reason as to why this man had a mannequin in his car was to protect him from road rage. My Two Cents Uhmm, how is a mannequin supposed to protect him from road rage? Will he be giving him a valium while in rush hour traffic? Will he smack his human for calling the person in the car next to him a sh*t driver? Someone help me out here!

Is 'The Taco Cleanse' 2016's fad diet, and does it work?

Image
It is not even a month into 2016, and new ways to lose weight are coming out of the wood work. One fad diet/cleanse that is making news on a national level is 'The Taco Cleanse ." Straight out of Austin, Texas, taco scientists have devised a plan called the 30-day taco cleanse. Everything that people need to know in order to be successful is in a book entitled, "The Taco Cleanse." The book showcases over 75 taco recipes that are vegan. The taco recipes include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On the book's website, the authors state that people will wake up in the morning with a newfound enthusiasm because you will be starting your day with a breakfast taco. While not all of the recipes in the book are vegan or vegetarian, the recipes are versatile, according to taco fanatic John Mione. As far as healthy eating is concerned, experts weigh in saying that you can wrap up your veggies and beans in a corn tortilla or a lettuce leaf. For the inside of the taco,

How to tell if your cat loves you

Image
Cats can be fickle creatures, but there are ways to tell whether or not your cat loves you. Here are a few ways in which cats are saying, "I love you ." Purring While this may be a sure fire way to tell if a cat loves you, it can also mean a mixture of other things. If a cat is anxious, they may try to calm themselves down by purring. If your furbaby is purring in your presence, more than likely it means that they feel content with you and cared for, just as they were with their cat mother. Grooming Cats are not necessarily known for being notorious lickers like dogs, but when they do lick you, consider yourself chosen by your kitty. Licking is one of the ultimate signs of affection that you can receive from a kitty. Showing of the belly If your cat flops down on their side and exposes their belly, that is a compliment right there. Exposing their belly makes the cat vulnerable, and if he or she is exposing it to you, they trust you more than anything in the

Struggles during the first year of recovery.

Image
Being a recovering addict can be a time of relief, rejuvenation, and rebirth. You can "tabula rasa" your life and make it what ever you want it to be. Unfortunately, you will have people in your life who will not quite understand your new change. They may put you down, and try to discourage your journey. You may also have people in your life who may blindside you and use your struggle with substance addiction against you. Early in recovery, these moments could either make you or break you. I have been clean and sober for four months (tomorrow it will be four months ). For the first time in my life, I am thinking clearly, I problem-solve, and I don't search for a quick fix to my problems. Recently, a couple of my former friends decided to turn their backs on me and they questioned my sobriety. I won't go through what the 'falling out' entailed, but I was extremely upset that they accused me of breaking my sobriety. That was hitting below the belt, and

Remembering David Bowie 1947-2016

Image
Today, the world woke up to the sad news of David Bowie's passing . The icon died Sunday after a long battle with cancer. He was 69 years old. The news broke on Bowie's Facebook page early Monday morning: "David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief." The news was also confirmed by his son, Duncan Jones. Bowie's death comes just days after he celebrated his 69th birthday. His birthday was also the day he released his latest studio album, "Blackstar." David Bowie's career spanned across several decades. Hits such as "Space Oddity," "Fame," and "Under Pressure," made him a superstar and a living legend. In 1996, Bowie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. David Bowie dabbled into acting as well. He is mostly known in the a

Is San Pellegrino a healthier alternative to other carbonated beverages?

Image
Recently, I began drinking San Pellegrino because I wanted to keep up with my fluids (medications require me to), and I also want to break my unhealthy cherry coke zero habit. I love carbonated beverages, and I had always heard great things about Pellegrino. So yesterday, I picked up some Pellegrino. It is a very tasty and refreshing alternative to soda. After finishing my bottle of Pellegrino, I searched to find out the health benefits of this alternative. Sure enough, there are several. First off, this gem is full of minerals, including potassium and magnesium. Secondly, it is full of healthy sulfates and rich in calcium. San Pellegrino is from the Italian Alps, and has been around since the 12th century. It is said that Leonardo Di Vinci visited the source of this beverage when he lived in Milan. The flip side of drinking San Pellegrino is that it does contain some sodium (about 10mg per serving; there are two servings in one 16 oz bottle). So if you have high blood pressur

What you should know about Raynaud's.

Image
Raynaud's is a very rare disorder that affects one's arteries, or blood vessels. These blood vessels carry blood from one end of the body to the other, and all places in between. In individuals who suffer from Raynaud's disease, or Raynaud's phenomenon, the blood vessels experience a vasospasm (in laymen's terms, it means that the blood vessels are narrowed). When blood vessels narrow, there is a reduction of blood flow to a person's toes and fingers (the phenomenon is primarily seen in the fingers). In about 40% of individuals with Raynaud's affected areas can include the toes, nose, nipples, lips, and ears. Raynaud's is categorized into two main types: primary and secondary. The primary type is known as Raynaud's disease. The cause of this disease is unknown, but it is not as severe as secondary Raynaud's. Secondary Raynaud's is known as Raynaud's phenomenon. It is caused by other factors or underlying diseases. Whether you

Should you be concerned about your cat's snoring?

Image
Anyone who has ever been a cat parent probably has heard a multitude of sounds coming from their furbaby. Some cat parents may have heard a snoring sound coming from their furbaby. Just like in humans, snoring occurs when the upper airway passages vibrate and make noise during breathing. The snoring occurs when the upper airway tissues are relaxed while sleeping. Cat breeds that are more likely to be snorers include short-nosed cats and Persian cats. While the noise may be fascinating and cute, snoring in cats could signify a health problem. The most common health problem that can lead to snoring is a weight problem. If your cat is overweight or obese, excess body fat can accumulate on the tissues that surround your cat's airways, thus producing the snoring. If your cat has an upper respiratory infection, they might develop a snoring habit. The congestion of mucus buildup in the airways could produce snoring in your furbaby. If your cat is an outdoor cat, foreign objects

(WTF!?) Man steals adult toys from Spencer's Gifts after proposing to girlfriend at Walmart.

Image
Now that we are smack dab in the middle of engagement season, everyone is looking for ways to tell that special someone that they are "the one." Well, one young man from Michigan thought that grandest gesture would be to propose to his lady love over the loudspeaker at Walmart. A 25-year-old William Cornelius purchased a $29.96 engagement ring and asked for 20-year-old Sheri Moore's hand in marriage. She said 'yes' and both embraced. Walmart customers cheered the couple on as they shared their moment. Once the romantic moment was over, William Cornelius went over to Spencer's Gifts to get sex toys for his beloved. He swiped $80.93 worth of items from the store. Some of the items found on Cornelius include: "Bride-to-Be" thong Vibrator Edible thong BJ oral blast candy for oral sex Cornelius admitted to police that he stole the items for his lady love. He was arrested, along with his lady love. Turns out, Moore stole a few items from W

Jenna Dewan-Tatum kills it during her Lip Sync Battle to Ginuwine's "Pony".

Image
In a newly released preview clip of LL Cool J's show "Lip Sync Battle," Jenna Dewan Tatum not only lip sync's the 90s classic, she recreates the Magic Mike striptease lap dance that hubby Channing Tatum made famous (and delicious) in the hit movie. After lap dancing on hubby Channing Tatum, LL Cool J asked if that was a typical night at the Tatum house. Jenna Dewan Tatum replied, sarcastically: "Totally. We lap dance every night." Check out the video below: (*Fans self* Looks like Channing Tatum isn't the only Tatum that I'm crushing on. Get it, girl!) As for Channing Tatum, here is a preview of his fine a** lip syncing "Let it Go" from Frozen. Let's hope he mothballs that outfit straight after, LOL! Jenna and Channing go head-to-head tonight at 10pm on Spike.

Brandi Glanville and LeAnn Rimes continue to battle it out over Brandi's kids.

Image
It has been over 6 years since the affair between Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes tore Brandi Glanville to pieces. While it has been several years since this nightmare occurred for Brandi, drama still ensues. Brandi spoke of her issues wth LeAnn Rimes recently, and it all had to do with LeAnn Rimes sharing photos of Brandi's boys on social media. Brandi disclosed that it is especially painful to see these photos during the holidays (Glanville states that she drinks to dull the pain of not having her boys with her). Rimes stated that since she is married to Eddie Cibrian, the boys are her family too, and that she can post what she wants. Eddie Cibrian did make a statement, saying that Brandi Glanville is lying about not seeing their boys much, and LeAnn Rimes was never told that she doesn't have permission to share pictures of the boys on social media. My Two Cents: My heart goes out to Brandi Glanville on this one. While I am not the biggest supporter of most of the th

Why Yolanda Foster is my hero right now.

Image
Yolanda Foster is most known for being the level-headed platinum blonde on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. For the past few years, she has been battling a very complicated illness: Lyme disease. She has done everything in her power to not let Lyme Disease take her from her life. She continued to remain a part of the storyline (on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) throughout her illness. Late last year, Foster announced her divorce from David Foster. Many rumors circulated that David Foster left the relationship because of her illness. While it has been reported that her illness was a small part of the reason, Yolanda Foster has said nothing but nice things about David Foster. She also asked the media to stop talking horribly about him. This woman is just a class act. Earlier today, a photo of Yolanda Foster circulated. In the photo , she is sitting on a ton of bins, telling the world that she is letting go of the old. She decided to clean out her closet and embrace 2016 as

Celebrity News: Julia Stiles is engaged!

Image
The holidays brought a surplus of engagements this time around. The latest celebrity to share her engagement with the world is actress Julia Stiles. Yes. Julia Stiles is engaged to camera assistant Preston J. Cook. Cook proposed on Christmas Eve in Isla Grande, Colombia. Afterward, Stiles couldn't hold in her joy and decided to take a picture of the ring, with a caption that read: "Best Christmas Ever!" (I don't blame her. The ring is gorgeous!) The couple met while filming "Go With Me," a movie that was released last year. Congrats to the actress and her soon-to-be husband. Also, a special congrats to everyone who got engaged over the holiday season. I wish you happiness and long marriages. Namaste, Mazol Tov, and all that jazz!

Breaking News: Natalie Cole has died.

Image
The daughter of jazz singer Nat "King" Cole passed away Thursday night at the age of 65. Her publicist Maureen O'Connor did not disclose where or how the "Unforgettable" singer  died . Cole has had issues with drugs, and also was diagnosed with hepatitis, which forced her to get a kidney transplant in 2009. RIP Natalie Cole!

Do you make New Year's resolutions?

Image
A big long-standing tradition at the end of one year, and the beginning of another, is to make resolutions. Some may resolve to lose weight. Some may resolve to get that coveted promotion at work. Some may even resolve to find true love by year's end. While it is all fine and dandy to make resolutions, can some resolutions be made too big to live up to? People put so much emphasis on a new year being a tabula rasa, a ways to start off fresh and new. They may wait for the new year to start and then think the work is done. Unfortunately, just because the calendar has rolled into another year, it doesn't mean the work has finished. If we want that big promotion, and if we want to lose weight, we need to put in the effort all year long. A numerical year holds no power. We do. I have been known to make New Year's resolutions. This year, I want to continue the happiness I embraced late last year. The only way I can continue my hard work is to make healthy choices and surrou
