British actor Alan Rickman has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 69 years old.
Rickman was one of the most-beloved actors to come from Britain. His roles in Die Hard, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, helped put this man on the global map. It wasn't until he landed the role of Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series, where he achieved super stardom.

Co-stars and friends of Alan Rickman began paying tribute to the late Rickman as soon as Rickman's family members broke the news. James Phelps, who played Fred Weasley, said that he was "shocked and sad" to hear of Rickman's passing. Stephen Fry posted that Rickman will be "sorely missed."

Across the world, Rickman will be remembered as a legendary actor. He will most certainly be missed, but his legacy will live on.
