Remembering the iconic Alan Thicke 1947-2016

Image
Photo Credit: thewrap A few days ago, news broke that one of the most beloved TV dads ever had suddenly passed away. Alan Thicke, who played Dr. Jason Seaver on hit 80s TV show Growing Pains, was playing hockey with his son when he suffered a heart attack. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was 69. The news of his sudden death sent shockwaves across the world. Millions of Thicke's fans tweeted and messaged their condolences and absolute shock regarding his death. Thicke's TV wife and TV kids expressed their sadness that their TV dad had died. Kirk Cameron, who played Mike Seaver on Growing Pains said this about the news: "I spent Monday through Friday for seven important years with Alan Thicke as my 'TV dad.' I'm shocked and truly heartbroken today at the news of his death. Alan was a generous, kind and loving man. I am so blessed to have grown up with him. Chelsea and I send our love and prayers to his family tonight. W

Donald Trump is Time magazine's 'Person of the Year' (Seriously).

Image
Photo Credit: Time On Wednesday, Time Magazine named President-elect Donald Trump the 2016 Person of the Year. Hillary Clinton was, once again, the runner up. Managing editor Nancy Gibbs made the announcement on the "Today" show. "I’ve never seen so much agreement about who had the most influence. I don't think we have ever seen one person operating in such an unconventional way have an impact on events of the year quite like this." Donald Trump called into the show, saying, "It means a lot. It's a very important magazine. I consider this a very great honor." The gratitude then turned sour as he spoke about Time's comment about his "divided America." "I think putting 'divided' is snarky. I'm not president yet, so I didn't have anything to divide."   My Two Cents Time choosing this hatemonger as the Person of the Year adds salt into an already open wound. Yes, he has made a huge impact on ou

Woman drops 100 lbs after eliminating carbs from diet.

Image
Photo Credit: Yahoo via People Twenty-Five year old Kristina Guice was always the 'fat kid' in school. Her diet as a kid consisted mostly of carbs. She recently spoke to People about her childhood and her weight loss journey: "It was carbs all day every day — cereal for breakfast, nachos or a sandwich for lunch, pizza or pasta for dinner. I didn’t really like vegetables so I rarely ate salad. Bread was the love of my life, and I didn’t understand what an appropriate portion was, so I was just eating however much I wanted." When she was accepted into a grad school across the country, the Arizona native decided to make a change. "I was like, ‘Here is my someday. I could to a grad school program with people across the country who I’ve never met before, and I could be who I want to be." Going to grad school wasn't the only inspiration she had in making the decision to lose weight; a close friend was also her inspiration. Two weeks before s

Horrible meme targeting terminally ill toddler goes viral.

Photo Credit: mummypages.com A mother in Alabama is warning other mothers about posting photos of their children online. Jenny Smith's 3-year-old son was the victim of a very cruel meme that made fun of his special needs. Smith wants to use what happened to her son to help other mothers, especially mothers of children with special needs: "My husband and I are trying to use it as a positive example. No. 1, to let other families know that it can happen to them and, No. 2, try to educate people of children with special needs and that terminally ill children are not to be used for a gag or a laugh. This is someone's child and personal photo and not to be made into a joke." Grayson was born with 22 birth abnormalities. He has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The meme mainly targeted a terminal health condition where his brain protrudes out of his skull. He has had 24 brain and head surgeries in order to improve his quality of life. Despite Gra

Beaver bargain shops at Maryland Dollar Store, gets into Christmas shenanigans.

Image
Photo Credit: fox4now via St Mary's County Sheriff's Office The holiday season is officially here, and so are the holiday bargains. It goes without saying that all humans love bargains. Well, we aren't the only species that loves bargains: beavers do too! A Maryland Dollar Store was visited by a beaver who was found checking out reasonably priced Christmas trees and Santa Claus figurines. The beaver was so excited by the prices that he/she accidentally caused some damage to the merchandise. Employees called the Sheriff deputies to the store. The deputies contacted animal control and they captured the beaver. On the Sheriff Office's Facebook page, they posted that the beaver has been released to a wildlife rehabilitator.

Donald Trump wants to revoke citizenship of any American who burns an American flag.

Image
Photo Credit: citizenslant The Twitter-addicted cheeto man is at it again! We all know the love affair President-elect Donald Trump has with Twitter. He talks about everything under the sun, and there is no stopping him (once he is sworn in, I worry that his verbal diarrhea could get us in trouble. He might want to work on that). Recently, he tweeted about the American flag. He stated that The tweet was 'liked' and 'retweeted' tens of thousands of times. It is being said that the court might consider this issue, since Trump is not alone in his opinion. Ted Cruz holds a similar standing, stating that any American affiliated with a terrorist group should be stripped of their citizenship (this one I agree on! I think hell just froze over. I'm agreeing with Ted Cruz on a topic. Holy sh*t!). My Two Cents My readers know the intense hatred I have for our newly elected President. However, I would never be desperate enough in my hatred to burn an American

Donald Trump butthurt over popular vote loss.

Image
Photo Credit: businessinsider Donald Trump, the Twitter-addicted man-child that the country elected for POTUS, is claiming that the only reason why he lost the popular vote is because "millions of people voted illegally." He began his outburst after Hillary Clinton announced her participation in the recount. She joins Green Party favorite Jill Stein in the recount. On Sunday morning, the former reality TV star and now President-elect, took to Twitter and said this: "Hillary Clinton conceded the election when she called me just prior to the victory speech and after the results were in. In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally. It would have been much easier for me to win the so-called popular vote than the Electoral College in that I would only campaign in 3 or 4 states instead of the 15 states that I visited. I would have won even more easily and convincingly

#DWTS Why I'm team Laurie and Val

Image
Photo Credit: ibtimes Tonight is the season 23 finale of 'Dancing With The Stars.' Three couples will be competing for the mirrorball trophy: Laurie and Val, James and Sharna, and Lindsay and Calvin will dance one more time before one of them is crowned the winner. I have been a diehard fan of DWTS for a few years now. This season, I didn't have just one favorite couple..I had about 5 favorite couples. The one pairing that stood out from all the rest, though, was Laurie and Val. Laurie Hernandez is an Olympian who has been wanting to be on DWTS since she was little. The 16-year-old danced her way into our hearts and is now the favorite to win the trophy. She is so positive, silly, and her personality is positively infectious. Her dancing is joyful, and you can tell how badly she wants to win. From the get-go, Laurie and Val have had this big brother/little sister bond, and it has grown with each dance. Last week, Laurie's grandmother passed away. Val was there

Natural Health Treatment for Depression

Image
Depression is a paralyzing monster. It takes over you, tightens its grip, and waits for you to suffocate. The right medication and therapy can turn things around and help you live productively. Unfortunately, if you are low-income and on state insurance or disability, your ability to keep your depression in check is being threatened. Donald Trump and his team have been vocal about overturning these desperately needed programs. In the event that he does succeed, it's important to have a natural treatment plan in place. Here, I will discuss what you can do to continue treating your depression. I must warn you, natural treatment is not as strong as the medication you are currently on, but it is still something. You can help your treatment be successful by introducing yoga, meditation, proper diet, and exercise into your regimen. St. John's Wort It has been proven that St. John's Wort is effective in treating mild to moderate depression. It typically takes 4 to 6 wee

Donald Trump claims Mike Pence was "harassed" at 'Hamilton.'

Image
Photo Credit: businessinsider During a performance of 'Hamilton,' the cast took time to address Veep-elect Mike Pence. "We have a message for you, sir. We hope that you will hear us out. We, sir, we are the diverse America, who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold out American values and to work on behalf of all of us." The audience applauded the cast. Previously in the evening Mike Pence, was booed by the crowd. Donald Trump waged a Twitter war against the cast of 'Hamilton,' saying: "Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen! The theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize

New blog series: Natural health remedies for various illnesses.

Image
Now that Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States, many of us who are low-income and have life-threatening issues are terrified we could lose our state insurance coverage. It's a very real and legitimate fear. In my last therapy appointment, I brought up my own fears and concerns to my therapist. She confirmed those fears, as some of her other clients are expressing the same concerns. I have spinal and nerve damage issues that severely impact my quality of life. I also have auto-immune disease issues that can become life-threatening if left untreated. I started thinking about everyone else who is in the same boat as myself, and I realized that I want to help figure out how to handle these illnesses. Between now and the inauguration, I will be researching and blogging natural ways to treat many illnesses. If you want me to research natural ways to treat your illness, you can find me on Twitter under the hashtag #BlurbalExchange. (comments section is still off

Will Donald Trump overturn Roe VS Wade?

Image
Photo Credit: opposingviews Donald Trump's election win has many people in this country scared. Women especially are feeling  nervous. It's no secret that Trump is an adamant pro-lifer, and this is what makes him a very dangerous man to women everywhere. During his campaign, President-elect Donald Trump made a vow to overturn Roe VS Wade. On Sunday, Trump disclosed during an interview on '60 Minutes' that he intends on keeping his word, much to the delight of conservatives everywhere. He also intends on filling Antonin Scalia's empty seat with someone who is also pro-life. "I’m pro-life. The judges will be pro-life... They’ll be pro-life, they’ll be - in terms of the whole gun situation, we know the Second Amendment, and everybody’s talking about the Second Amendment, and they’re trying to dice it up and change it, they’re going to be very pro-Second Amendment. But having to do with abortion if it ever were overturned, it would go back to the states.

Bernie Sanders would've won the election if the DNC hadn't bullied him away.

Image
Photo Credit: thenaation Those of us in America are currently dealing with shock after Donald Trump won the presidential election. After the election, I wondered what would have happened if Bernie Sanders got the Democratic nomination instead of Hillary Clinton. Would he have won over Trump? I believe he would have won. In fact, Bernie Sanders would have won by a landslide. Unfortunately, the DNC bullied him out of the election, and his voters either went third party, or shuddered as they voted for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump on Election Day. Bernie Sanders was a far-left candidate, but he was for the people of this country. He wanted to steer America in the right direction. Sadly, us Bernie fans had our hands tied. The reason why Donald Trump won the election was because Hillary was too corrupt to trust. No one wanted a corrupt politician in office, so they elected someone with no political or military experience into office. Now, this country has erupted with protests all

Donald J. Trump becomes the 45th President of the United States.

Image
Photo Credit: chronicle In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the orange businessman received a phone call that changed everything. Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump and conceded the race to him. With Trump very close to receiving the electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency, Trump declared victory. As he spoke to the crowd, he received the electoral votes that were needed. Trump winning the election was something that no one saw coming. In the days leading up to the election, Clinton was poised to become the president. However, as we watched the results come in state-by-state, the world saw a completely unexpected outcome. We watched the House and Senate being taken over by Republicans, and we saw unprecedented numbers in favor of Trump. Clinton's campaign manager dismissed the crowd at Clinton's campaign headquarters. The crowd looked completely somber and crushed. A Trump win was felt economically across the world. Stock markets took a sharp nosedive overni

Psychic animals reveal which candidate will win the election.

Image
Photo Credit: edudemic An ecological Tourism Park in China is known for correctly predicting winners of soccer matches in Europe, and even some political forecasting. Now, the animals are taking a stab at our upcoming election tomorrow. Monkeys, dogs, and even sharks have weighed in on who will be our Commander-In-Chief. A monkey named Geda was presented with life-size cutouts of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Geda chose Trump, and even climbed the cutout to kiss the candidate on the face. Dogs at a US dog park were given chew toys in the images of the candidates. Trump won. *growls* A shark race presented by Nova Southeastern University in Florida tagged two sharks to represent Trump. Whichever shark swam the most miles by November 4th would be the winner. The Trump shark won. On the flipside, a psychic goat in Scotland revealed that Clinton would be the winner. So, what is the point of all of this? Monkeys = Horrible Dogs = Horrible Sharks = Horrible Goats = Semi-

Hey #Nashies, Luke Wheeler is returning to 'Nashville!'

Image
Photo Credit: Chris Carmack's Twitter page Over the summer, Will Chase, who played Luke Wheeler on Nashville, announced that he was exiting the show. Well, it looks like he is rescinding that announcement, if Chris Carmack's recent BTS look at the returning show is to be believed. Chris Carmack shared a toothy picture on Twitter Sunday, with Will Chase at his side. The photo was captioned: "It's always a good day opening up for Luke Wheeler!" Will Chase tweeted back, saying: "Felt good to put the boots back on and always great to see YOU brother!" Before my fellow #Nashies get all excited about this news, don't count on Luke Wheeler having an extended storyline. Will Chase is currently a regular on ABC's show 'Time After Time.' Regardless, it is great to have Wheelin' Dealin Luke Wheeler back, even if it's for an episode or two!

Oh Mylanta! Marla Sokoloff to reprise role of Gia on 'Fuller House!'

Photo Credit: FHSequel via Marla's Instagram Remember Stephanie's pal Gia in the second half of 'Full House?' Well, Gia is coming back in season two of 'Fuller House!' Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie Tanner on the show, confirmed at a recent press event that Marla Sokoloff would reprise her role in season two: "Gia comes back, [and] there’s a few others." Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) added: "Yeah, Gia comes back. You’ll have to watch though to see if she brings her cigarettes back or not. Everyone’s wondering, ‘Is she gonna smoke?’ Is she still rebellious? I don’t know." Sokoloff, 35, has continued to act through the years. In 2014, she had a recurring role on 'The Fosters.' Sokoloff also sings on the side. She has been married since 2009 and has two children. I seriously can't wait until season two. Hey, maybe Stephanie and Gia can resurrect their band, 'Girl Talk.' Haha, in all seriousness, I am e

Clinton in slim lead over Trump on day before Election Day.

Image
Photo Credit: civilbeat According to the latest CBS News poll, Democrat Hillary Clinton has gained  a 4 point lead over Republican Donald Trump. The poll has Clinton at 45%, whereas Trump is at 41%. In recent weeks, Trump had been in the lead, due to questions regarding the Clinton email controversy. Clinton has since been cleared of any wrongdoing, which probably helped her regain the lead in the election. Libertarian hopeful Gary Johnson is at 5%, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein is at 2%. Tomorrow's election is probably the most important election in our country's recent history. Many people have a lot to lose if Trump wins the election. We also have Clinton, who most people deem untrustworthy. If anyone here in America is thinking about sitting out of tomorrow's important election, I urge you to reconsider. Every vote counts, especially in this tight election. Right now, the pendulum can swing either way. Your vote could determine the election. Keep that in

Mo'Nique gets defensive about her open marriage, saying "it's so not about sex."

Photo Credit: cheatsheet Funny lady Mo'Nique has brought laughter to our hearts for many years. There is one topic, however, that is anything but funny. When Mo'Nique went public about her relatively unconventional marriage, many people took to social media to blast her for her 10 year open marriage. People asked her "why get married if you aren't loyal to your spouse?" Mo'Nique, 48, talked about her open marriage while visiting Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live." "The rule is simply honesty. When you start asking people about relationships … What about this one? What about that one? Often times with people we can't say, ‘This is how I'm feeling.' You find out, it's so not about sex. It's so not about, ‘Can you be with other people? It's simply about I won't take any secrets to my grave nor will he take any to his. Now the world took and said, ‘Oh, my God, Mo'Nique will let that man sleep with anybody,

Countdown to Election Day: My Two Cents

Image
Photo Credit: hankewitz A week from today, the biggest election in our lives will be here. Millions of stressed out Americans will be venturing to the polls and will be casting their vote for the next POTUS. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have traded shade in political rallies and debates. As of this publication, Donald Trump leads by 1% in National Polls. Along with millions of people, this terrifies the hell out of me. As a woman, I feel that a Trump leadership would set us back about 100+ years. Trump voters want him to overturn Roe VS. Wade, and they want Trump to overturn a woman's right to vote. Not only do I feel terrified as a woman, I feel terrified as a chronically ill and disabled woman. I am low-income and am on state insurance. Trump wants to overturn these programs that people like me need in order to survive. I have been struggling with auto-immune illnesses for years, and I need medication in order to stay in check. Also, I'm disabled. I developed

5 indie horror movies you need to watch on Halloween night.

Photo Credit: horror-extreme If you're sick of the usual Hollywood BS horror movies, you might want to consider following the indie horror route. Indie horror movies are something to be appreciated. This Halloween night, I want to let you in on some of the best horror movies that the indie movie genre has to offer. 1. The House of the Devil (2009) This movie has a similar tone that you would find in John Carpenter movies. The thing to keep in mind about this movie is that it is old school and can be unsettling. 2. Pontypool (2008) This movie is recognized by the horror movie community as being an unconventional zombie movie. The movie is about a town that is gripped by a mysterious epidemic. Viewers have stated that this breaks the mold of zombie movies. 3. The Battery (2012) If you're a fan of zombie movies, you will probably enjoy "The Battery." Viewers of this movie have said that it definitely sticks in you mind long after watching it. 4. Tuck

Michael Douglas alleges that Val Kilmer has cancer and "things don't look too good for him."

Image
Photo Credit: peacebenwilliams Here we go again! During a Q&A with Johnathan Ross at The Theatre Royal Drury in London, England, Michael Douglas brought up the health of his former co-star, Val Kilmer. The 72-year-old alleges that Kilmer, 56, was diagnosed with tongue cancer, the same cancer Douglas fought back in 2010. "Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don't look to good for him. My prayers are with him. That's why you haven't heard too much from Val lately." The funny part about all of this is, Michael Douglas hasn't heard from his friend in over a year. A source close to the actor had this to say: "Hopefully he's improved. I don't think Michael's heard from him in over a year." Kilmer is no stranger to health crisis rumors. Last year, reports claimed that he was admitted to ICU at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Kilmer refuted those rumors: "There's a rumor

'Two and a Half Men' star Angus T. Jones resurfaces, discusses what he's up to.

Image
Photo Credit: RollingStone Remember the cute chubby kid from 'Two and a Half Men?' Well, he has resurfaced and discussed what he is up to in the current issue of People. If you remember the controversy from 2012, you will remember that Jones, 23, made several YouTube videos talking about how his newfound faith conflicted with the storylines he was getting on 'Two and a Half Men.' Jones was making $300,000 an episode, and had been on the show for nearly a decade. Once he reached adult age, he joined the Seventh-Day Adventist faith. In fact, in 2012, he sat down with a filmmaker who followed the same faith and gave an interview: "I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that." Jones later apologized for his comments and continued to appear on the show as a guest star through the end of the series. In his real life, Jones decided to enroll at the University of Col

AARP salutes Luke Perry with special birthday cover.

Image
If you're like me, and spent the majority of the 1990s as a teen, you certainly remember Dylan McKay. He was your first celeb crush. He made teen hearts swoon and break at the same time. Fast forward a couple of decades and most of us are well in our 30s. As if we didn't have our regular lives to make us feel old, we now have the above AARP cover of Luke Perry, wishing him a happy 50th birthday. The heartthrob celebrated his 50th birthday on October 11, and fans of Luke Perry tweeted AARP, thanking them for making them feel old and depressed. User Sam HawkBadger tweeted that AARP just made an entire generation of people very depressed. The hashtag #90210ld also made the rounds. I remember sneak-watching Beverly Hills 90210 when I was a young teen (I wasn't allowed to openly watch it, but I did so anyway...sorry dad!). Dylan McKay was defiantly a hottie, but Shannon Dorhety was hotter. Sorry, LOL! Happy belated birthday Luke Perry! You still look amazing after al

Donald Trump to bring President Obama's half-brother Malik Obama to final debate.

Image
Photo Credit: centrictv Tonight, viewers from all over the country, and around the world, will witness the 3rd and last Presidential debate sh*tshow. As with any other presidential debate, each candidate is allowed to invite any guest they want. During the last debate, we watched as Donald Trump brought several women who were supposedly raped by Hillary Clinton's husband Bill Clinton (Trump must've lost the memo that stated that Bill Clinton wasn't running). Well, tonight, Donald is bringing Malik Obama as his guest . Malik Obama is the estranged half-brother of our current president Barack Obama. Malik Obama is a strong supporter of the reincarnated Hilter (Donald Trump). Malik Obama released a statement to Page Six, saying: "I’m excited to be at the debate. Trump can make America great again."   In turn, Donald Trump cooed about having Malik Obama as his guest: "I look very much forward to meeting and being with Malik. He gets it far better than

Marlee Matlin responds to Trump's abhorrent comments regarding deafness.

Image
Photo Credit: NYDailyNews Marlee Matlin is one of the most ah-mazing actresses in the world. She is beautiful, talented, and a class act (I am a HUGE fan of her work, and have been for many years <3 ). She also happens to be deaf. Being deaf hasn't stopped her from living her dream, and it won't stop her from clapping back at useless a**holes like Donald Trump. It was recently reported that not only did Trump make sexual comments toward Matlin while on Celebrity Apprentice, Trump himself called Matlin "retarded" due to her being deaf. The Daily Beast reported that the comments were made to her face and behind her back. He would also degrade her in a manner similar to how Trump mocked the NY Times reporter for being disabled. On October 14, Marlee Matlin clapped back at Trump, saying: "Recent media reports have circulated that Donald Trump allegedly referred me to as 'retarded.' The term is abhorrent and should never be used. The fact tha

Kristen Stewart reportedly dating musician St. Vincent

Image
Photo Credit: Cosmopolitan   Stop the presses! We have a new power couple in the works! After an on-again/off-again relationship with Alicia Cargile, Stewart has reportedly moved onto musician St. Vincent (real name Annie Clark). The musician recently accompanied the actress to a NY film festival screening of Stewart's new movie 'Certain Women,' and the two ladies have been stuck together like glue ever since. One source told US Weekly: " It’s been very romantic. Kristen is always whispering closely in her ear and asking her opinion. " Note: Nothing has been confirmed by Kristen Stewart or St. Vincent. St. Vincent has recently split from Cara Delevingne. My Two Cents While I did like Alicia Cargile, I think St. Vincent looks better with Stewart. I am a biased party, though. I always root for females who have brown curly hair and freckles. We are cut from the same cloth!

#RepealThe19th becomes one of the most trending topics of the election.

Image
This election has become historical for many reasons. We have our first female presidential candidate for a major party, and we have a television personality with no experience in politics running for the Republican party. No other election has raised this much uproar than this one. One topic that has started trending recently is a woman's right to vote. Women were given the right to vote in 1920. The women behind the 19th Amendment fought hard so we could vote. Everything from picketing to hunger strikes, to being arrested, they did it all to show that we deserve equal rights. Here we are in 2016, 96 years later, and our right to vote is being threatened. We all know that Donald Trump bleeds racism and misogyny. Well, so do his voters, and they are demanding that he repeals the 19th Amendment if he wins the election. Roe VS Wade is also on the agenda of laws that he wants to repeal. The women at the forefront of the 19th Amendment must be rolling around in their graves at th

Candace Cameron Bure's daughter Natasha joins 'The Voice.'

Image
Photo Credit: thehollywoodreporter Last night, 'The Voice' concluded the blind auditions. The four judges fought tooth-and-nail over some of the best talent they've seen thus far. One of the aspiring singers that Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus, and Alicia Keys listened to was Candace Cameron Bure's 18-year-old daughter Natasha Bure. In her video package, Bure spoke about how music is something that she wants to pursue and how she didn't want to be under her famous mother's shadow. She wanted to be her own person. Natasha stepped onto the stage wearing a black dress and fur vest (I hope it was faux fur!). She took her place and began singing "Can't Help Falling in Love With You," by Elvis Presley. She pretty much nailed the beginning of the song. When Adam Levine turned his chair around, she became a little nervous, causing her performance to suffer just a tad. For someone so young, it is understandable to be nervous. Adam Levine
