"Switched At Birth's" final season won't air until 2017.

Last Friday, 'Switched" creator Lizzy Weiss tweeted that the show will not be back until sometime in 2017. She implored fans to "wait for us."

This news comes shortly after the announcement of the show's cancellation. Weiss read the frustration from fans, and followed up with a tweet on Saturday:
"It's a bummer but it is what it is. I was a fan of Mad Men and I waited forever for its final season. True fans will wait. It's worth it."

The last "new" episode of SAB aired in October of 2015.

My Two Cents:

I read through some of the comments made on 'Switched At Birth's' Facebook fanpage, and fans are both pissed and confused. I completely understand the confusion. First an announcement is made that the show is canceled. Now, the final season is not coming back until sometime in 2017.
I remember when this happened with Mad Men. While that show's demographic is older than 'Switched At Birth's' demographic, there were some people who were angered by the delay. With 'Switched,' the demographic is geared more toward the teenagers and 20/30-somethings. This younger audience more than likely won't stick around to watch the final season. They will probably forget about the show and watch something else.

Ever since ABC Family changed to Freeform, bad things have happened. I lost respect for the channel when they canceled 'Chasing Life' out of the blue.
I don't know what is happening over at Freeform, but they will be losing viewers if they keep canceling quality programming.
