Hollywood putting the pressure on Georgia governor to veto anti-LGBT bill.

hb757
Republicans recently presented a bill to Georgia Governor Nathan Deal that would protect (christian) religious freedom. In this bill, faith-based organizations would have the option to deny services to individuals in the LGBT community.

This bill has gotten the attention of Hollywood, and everyone else around the world. Many companies have expressed their disdain and disappointment in the bill.

-The Weinstein Company is supposed to film a Richard Pryor biopic later this year. A statement released by the production company said that it would end its plans for filming if the bill is signed into law. It would instead relocate to another state.

-Time Warner released a statement Thursday, asking for Governor Deal to exercise his veto of bill HB 757.

-21st Century Fox also released a statement, urging Governor Deal to veto the bill.

-Other companies, such as: Comcast, Discovery Communications, Sony Pictures, Starz, and Lionsgates also asked for a vetoing of the bill. However, they have not stated if they would leave Georgia if bill HB757 is passed.

Here is a list of other major companies against bill HB 757:

-Disney (Disney released a statement saying that it would end filming at Pinewood Studios if the bill passes).
-AMC Networks
-Viacom
-Hilton
-Apple
-Dell
-Marriott

As everyone knows, AMC's hit show, "The Walking Dead" is filmed in Georgia. There is no word on whether the show would relocate if bill HB 757 passes.

Governor Deal has until May 3, 2016 to make his decision.

My Two Cents

I really hope these companies keep their word and move out of Georgia. These companies will lose money if they don't. I know people will veto any company that is affiliated with a state that has this type of law. These laws that North Carolina and Georgia are enacting are just disgusting.

On behalf of the LGBT community, Governor Deal, please veto this bill. It is appalling and discriminatory.
