Caitlyn Jenner wants to be Ted Cruz's trans ambassador.
She said the following during the interview:
“I like Cruz. I think he’s very conservative, and a great constitutionalist, and a very articulate man. I haven’t endorsed him or anything like that. But I also think, he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues (Then why would you support him then??).”
She continued:
“I get it. The Democrats are better when it comes to these types of social issues. I understand that. Number one, if we don’t have a country, we don’t have trans issues. We need jobs. We need a vibrant economy. I want every trans person to have a job. With $19 trillion in debt and it keeps going up, we’re spending money we don’t have. Eventually, it’s going to end. And I don’t want to see that. Socialism did not build this country. Capitalism did. Free enterprise. The people built it. And they need to be given the opportunity to build it back up. Wouldn’t it be great, let’s say he goes on to be president, and I have all my girls on a trans issues board to advise him on making decisions when it comes to trans issues. Isn’t that a good idea?”
Ted Cruz is known for being transphobic and homophobic. Cruz has a record of attacking the trans community. He called the support for protecting trans students "ridiculous," and the supporters "zealots." Cruz also opposes the Equality Act. The equality act would protect trans individuals from employment discrimination.
Last year, Cruz introduced the State Marriage Defense Act, which would cause a same-sex married couple to become unmarried if they cross into a state that did not support gay marriage (Thank God gay marriage is legal in all states!). Ted Cruz is also against trans individuals serving in the military.
My Two Cents:
Caitlyn freaking Jenner...what is wrong with you?! Have you lost your mind?! Why would you want to be an ambassador to a man that despises your community?
There is no way on earth that you could change his mind. As for your girls, from what I hear, Jenny Boylan is not happy with your decision to support Ted Cruz. I mean, can you blame her?!
Caitlyn Jenner is a bit green when it comes to the trans community. Sure, she understands a little of what goes on, but she obviously doesn't get the whole picture when she is supporting a conservative who hates the community.
Not only is this one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard of, Caitlyn Jenner is both naïve about trans issues, and stubborn in her conservative ideology. You can't be a trans activist AND a conservative. You have to pick one. Where do your loyalties lie? Understand that by siding with Ted Cruz for president, you are tainting your cause and making things worse for others in the trans community. You are not a representative. In order to represent, you need to be loyal.
It's your choice. Until then, you won't be taken seriously.
