Woman posts a selfie in stolen dress on Facebook, gets arrested

Here's another one to add to the "dumbest criminals" pile: A 27 year old woman in Illinois stole a dress, put it on when she got home, took a selfie with her bestie, posted it on Facebook, made it her profile picture, and didn't think she was going to get caught. Well, she thought wrong.
The people at the store she ripped off weren't stupid. They were tracking Danielle Saxton's every move. The store she stole the dress from is called Mortie's Boutiques. The store has video surveillance and also tracks suspected theft on social media, including Facebook. They had suspected Saxton when they first saw her. Not even 2 hours after Saxton had left the store, Saxton had posted the selfie on Facebook and made it her Facebook profile picture. The boutique saw the photo and notified the police. When the police arrived at the house, not only did they find Saxton in the stolen dress, they found several articles of clothes that she had also stolen from the boutique. Saxton was arrested and charged with shoplifting. Her bestie was also arrested.

I have to give major props to the boutique for their surveillance skills. I think that is absolutely brilliant! If more stores did what they do, their shrink levels would be close to zero percent.

As for the stupid criminal, did she honestly believe that she wouldn't get caught when she posted that selfie on Facebook? Most, if not, ALL businesses have a Facebook page. Not to mention, you may have a friend or two that could narc you out to the store.
When I first read the title, I thought: "Oh great, another stupid teenager." When I saw that it was a 27 year old woman that committed this crime, I was surprised. I guess the old saying is true, you can't fix stupid. You also can't grow out of stupid.

Here's what we've learned from this news story:
-You can't grow out of stupid.
-The dress she stole makes my eyes bleed.
-Mortie's Boutiques has the best surveillance skills I've ever seen!
-Between her and the vibrator woman, I don't know who to give the "Dumbest Criminal of the Day" award to.

Readers! Who would you choose? I'm sort of leaning toward this one because of the awful duckface Ms Thang is making in the picture, but, I'm still torn.
