Since the dawn of discriminatory bill HB2, North Carolina has watched businesses and opportunities flee the state faster than you can say "impeach Gov McCrory." Musicians and performers have cancelled performances in protest of HB2.
There are some performers, however, who have decided to keep their performance dates, and use the opportunity to speak out against HB2, the anti-LGBT law that discriminates harshly against those in the trans community.

Singer/Actress Selena Gomez is among a few performers who are using their concert as an opportunity to speak out against HB2. The decision to perform, or not to perform, was a hard one for the 23-year-old singer:
"I went back and forth on whether I should cancel my concert in North Carolina and ultimately I think what is right for me is to move forward with my show and donate a portion of the proceeds to Equality North Carolina and their effort to defeat this act of discrimination."

Not only will proceeds benefit Equality North Carolina, Gomez is also making sure that the Timer Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte is trans-friendly.
"I’ve been reassured the venue I will be performing in has gender-neutral bathrooms as I want everyone coming to my show to be welcomed."

Selena Gomez's concert takes place Tuesday (6/7) in Charlotte, NC. Slay it, girl!
