Georgia Governor Nathan Deal to veto 'religious liberty' bill.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution stated this morning that GOP Governor Nathan Deal will veto the anti-LGBT 'religious liberty' bill that made headlines last week. Here is what the report said: "Gov. Nathan Deal said he will veto the 'religious liberty' bill that triggered a wave of criticism from gay rights groups and business leaders and presented him with one of the most consequential challenges he’s faced since his election to Georgia’s top office. The measure doesn’t reflect the character of our state or the character of its people." Gov Deal also mentioned to his fellow republicans that the world is changing around them, and that they need to take a deep breath. Deal had a lot of pressure from both sides of the fence. There was a threat from his fellow republicans of an override to the veto if he agreed to veto the bill. He was also pressured by business leaders and gay rights groups to veto the bill.
