Did Donald Trump accuse our soldiers of stealing recovery funds?

The amount of disgust that I have for the presumptive GOP nominee is insurmountable.

Donald Trump delivered a speech in North Carolina last night, and one of the things he discussed were our amazing troops. Unfortunately, Trump didn't have much of a regard for the men and women in our military. In fact, he accused some of the soldiers who fought in the Iraq War of stealing recovery funds.
"Iraq, crooked as hell. How about bringing baskets of money? Millions and millions of dollars and handing it out? I want to know, who are the soldiers that had that job because I think they're living very well right now, whoever they may be."
Hope Hicks, Donald Trump's spokeswoman tried to clarify that Trump was talking about Iraqi soldiers and not U.S. soldiers.
According to the Center for Public Integrity, between 2005 and 2015, 115 U.S. soldiers were convicted of bribery and theft in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Around the Memorial Day holiday, Donald Trump claimed to have raised $6 million for wounded veterans and contributing $1 million of his own money to veterans' causes. Many people questioned whether these great causes would see that kind of money.
Alexander McCoy, a veteran of the Marines, was put off with how Donald Trump was raising this money. He also questioned where the money went (according to him, the above causes never saw the money).

It is no secret that Trump has a fairly complex relationship with our military. Just look at the fallout between himself and John McCain back in 2015.

My Two Cents

Obviously Donald Trump did his homework and noticed that we had 115 bad apples in our military. HOWEVER, it does not mean that you accuse our men and women in the military of being crooks. These men and women have put their lives on the line to ensure our safety. How dare you call them thieves?

If anyone is crooked here, it's you Trump.
