Kelly Clarkson to release a soul record in 2017, and more surprises!

Throughout this entire week, Kelly Clarkson has hinted that a MAJOR announcement was to be made on Friday. Well, it's Friday, and Kelly Clarkson has over-delivered on the following announcements!

  • Announcement #1: She fulfilled her contract with RCA last year, and has now signed with Atlantic Records!
  • Announcement #2: She is making a soul album! And it will be out in 2017!
  • Announcement #3: She has a new website!

Kelly Clarkson had trouble containing her excitement about working with Atlantic. She did, however, say this about the major label:
"What’s cool about Atlantic, too, is that they love every part of my personality. I love the country side of me and I love the Broadway side of me and I love the pop-side of me and the soulful-side of me, and they’re really down to make whatever record I’m into which I’m super excited about."
Atlantic Records is equally as excited to be working with Kelly Clarkson:

She is one of the greatest artists of our generation, a musical icon with an extraordinary, soul-inspired voice that has captivated millions of fans around the world. With Clarkson releasing country song "Tie it Up" a few years ago, many were under the impression that she would venture into the world of country music. The 34-year-old singer stated that she will one day make a country album. She wants her forthcoming album to be soul, however.
The album will have a good collection of soulful cover songs. Four of the songs Clarkson will be covering are available to download (for free) on Kelly Clarkson's new website: kellyclarksonlive.com

I have a feeling this new album is going to be amazing. Her first album had a soulful feel to it, and that album was incredible.

Why TNT did not air the season premiere of "The Last Ship."

Photo credit: screenrant Fans who were awaiting the season premiere of "The Last Ship" last night were met with disappointment. TNT decided to postpone the season 3 premiere due to the tragedy that took place in Orlando, Florida in the early hours of Sunday morning. At least 50 people died, and another 53 were injured when a gunman opened fire at a popular club in Florida. Season 3 of "The Last Ship" was to open with gunshots being fired at a nightclub full of patrons. TNT has not announced a new premiere date for the season premiere of "The Last Ship." My Two Cents I am really glad that TNT had enough respect to postpone the premiere. Even though I am a fan of the show, I think it would be inappropriate to show an episode involving that subject matter. Thank you, TNT! Actor Wil Wheaton criticizes Paul Ryan's response to Texas Church shooting.

Photo Credit: ravishly Actor/Fellow Blogger/My First Crush, Wil Wheaton, went on the attack after Paul Ryan sent out his prayers and condolences to the victims of the Church shooting tragedy. Ryan tweeted for a "call to prayer." Wheaton subsequently posted the following in response: "The murdered victims were in a church. If prayers did anything, they'd still be alive, you worthless sack of s**t." After receiving a TON of backlash, Wheaton tried to explain his tweet in a series of later tweets: "Hey, real and actual people of faith: I hear you. I apologise for insulting you, in my rage at Paul Ryan's refusal to address gun violence." He also stated that Paul Ryan is someone who exploits his faith by hiding behind his words without conducting actual good deeds. Wheaton also expressed his upset that Ryan refused to address gun violence. My Two Cents The thing I love about Wil Wheaton is that he is not afraid of expressing his opinion.
