Abby Lee Miller was charged with 20 counts of concealing assets, bankruptcy fraud, and a criminal count that involves international monetary information (basically, she failed to report $10K+ worth of funds she brought into the US from her trip to Australia).
On Monday, Miller pleaded guilty to one count of failing to report monetary information. According to Judge Terrence McVerry, if Abby Lee Miller is convicted, she faces a fine of half a million dollars, and up to 6-10 years in prison.
Miller is currently out on bond and she is allowed to travel. She will be sentenced in Pittsburgh on October 11.
Abby Lee Miller released the following statement to ET last week:
"Events over the past several months have been extremely challenging for me, my family, my friends and most important, my students. Because of this I made the very difficult decision to close the door on this chapter of my life by accepting responsibility for mistakes I have made along the way. I appreciate all the wonderful messages of support I've received from around the world and look forward to the future and getting back to my life's work; helping young dancers fulfill their potential."
