Over the weekend, fitness icon Richard Simmons was sent to the hospital because of "bizarre behavior."
On Friday, the L.A. Fire Department responded to a call at the 67-year-old's residence. He was then sent to the hospital in an ambulance.

On Sunday, his publicist reports that Simmons returned to his residence and is doing fine. In fact, Simmons released a statement to explain what happened:

"Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and concern after hearing I was in the hospital. I was dehydrated and needed some fluids and now I am feeling great! Summer is here - drink plenty of liquids. Big hugs and kisses for caring."

This incident is the latest in a string of incidents questioning the well-being of the fitness guru. In March, rumors of Simmons' being kidnapped circulated the internet. Simmons responded to the rumors to ET staff, saying that he has not been kidnapped, and that he is surrounded by good people. He also stated that he took two years off to be "by himself."

(I mean, the guy has been working his a** off for 40+ years. He needs a break).

My Two Cents

I'm glad that Richard Simmons is okay. I've been dehydrated before and you do act a little bizarre when you become severely dehydrated. Let this be a lesson to you all: Drink lots of fluids this summer.
Also, say what you will about Richard Simmons. At least he isn't afraid to be his authentic self.
