Fans rejoiced when CMT picked up hit TV show 'Nashville' for a fifth season. Yesterday, news broke that the show will be without two series regulars.

It is being reported that Aubrey Peeples and Will Chase have departed the show.
The last time we saw Will Chase (Luke Wheeler), he had just helped client Will Lexington fight against homophobia. We also saw him reconnect with his son and ex-wife. Any loose ends that we had with Luke Wheeler were tied up.
The last time we saw Aubrey Peeples (Layla), she had just been exposed for lying to Avery in order to keep Avery and Juliette apart. All of this stems from the loss she suffered when Jeff Fordham died trying to save Juliette Barnes. Layla decided to get revenge on Juliette Barnes by stealing Avery away from her, making him fall for her. After Avery found out the truth, he told her off. We saw Layla exposed as the horrible villain that she is.

The departures of Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples would have happened anyway, as their storylines have been played out.
Fear not, Nashies. There is a small possibility that they could come back in a guest spot in the future.

As for the rest of the cast, everyone is still in negotiations. Connie Britton, Charles Eston, and Clare Bowen have expressed interest in coming back.

My Two Cents

I'm pretty glad that we won't see Aubrey Peeples on the show anymore. Even though I like her as an actress, I hated Layla. She was evil.
