East Coast digs out after "bomb cyclone" hits, sub zero temps follow.

It's been quite a week for those of us on the east coast. If you live in the northeast like myself, you've been dealing with near zero temperatures for quite some time. You add in the coined "Bomb Cyclone," and it's added salt in an open wound. To make matters worse, even colder air has moved in, making those balmy near zero temps a thing of the past. Those temps have been replaced with sub zero temperatures, with wind chills well below zero. The cold air has moved as far south as Florida, where reports of frozen iguanas have fallen out of palm trees (according to reports, the iguanas are still alive, despite being frozen in a cocoon).
I know that sounds funny, but this should show you all how dangerous this weather is.

It is important to keep yourselves safe during these temps. Make sure you bundle up. Wear layers. Do not spend a prolonged period of time in sub zero temps. Frostbite can occur within a matter of minutes in these conditions, so please be careful.

Keep an eye on your children, and your elderly neighbors. Also, make sure your pets are not kept outside during these harsh conditions. There have been reports of dogs frozen to death due to prolonged periods outside. If you have cats in your neighborhood, make sure they have someplace warm to retreat to.
The sub zero conditions aren't expected to last. Here in CT, the sub zero temps will last a few more days, and by Monday, the temps will warm back up to the 30s.
Stay warm, and remember, these temps will not last.

PS- I really don't like the term "bomb cyclone." The storm was just a very impressive Nor'easter. I saw many people on social media likening the look of the storm to the one that occurred in the movie "The Day After Tomorrow."
