Kentucky clerk continues to deny gay marriage licenses, despite supreme court ruling.

Kim Davis has made headlines recently for denying same-sex marriage licenses in Rowan Country, Kentucky. Davis asked the court to be excused from that part of her job on the grounds that gay marriage goes against her religious beliefs. The court denied her request.
Last week, two same-sex couples came into the office to obtain their marriage license. Davis was not working out front when they came in, but her staff was instructed by her to turn away the two couples. Davis came out and the following exchange occurred:

One of the couples: “Under whose authority are you not issuing licenses?”
Davis replied: “Under God’s authority!”

Both couples appealed to the Morehead Sheriff. The Sheriff stated that while he cannot enforce the Supreme Court's decision, Davis will likely be held in contempt.
It has been reported if Davis does not begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses on Tuesday, she will face fines or jail time.

My Two Cents:

It's totally cool if you have a belief in one god or another, but you still have to obey the laws of the land.

As for Kim Davis' comment about God's authority, until God's house starts paying taxes, his word doesn't carry any weight. Also, since when is it wrong for someone to marry the person they love?
The thing I find funny is that when you ask a radical Christian to explain why they are against gay marriage, they can't answer the question without their bible. It's as if they have no personality outside from what they've been taught in the bible.

In this day and age, people cannot live their lives based on what they have read in the bible. You have to have a personality that is fully adjusted to the 21st century. If you don't have a personality outside of the bible, you're not going to live a full life. You will miss out on so many opportunities and experiences.

This isn't a knock to all Christians. I know some Christians who are completely loving and open to all walks of life. Those are the Christians that I can tolerate.
I'm throwing shade at the Christians who think the LGBT community is immoral, and the Christians who see women as second class citizens. You guys are an embarrassment to humanity. No wonder aliens won't talk to us.

As for Ms. Davis, I really hope she gets her act together and allows love and humanity into her heart. Otherwise, she is going to make a good toy for her cell mate.
Just sayin.
