Breaking: Actor John Heard passes away.

John Heard, best known for his role in the "Home Alone" movies, and his work in iconic movie "Beaches," has died. He was found dead by maid service in a hotel room in Palo Alto, CA. He was 72.

According to Heard's rep, he had undergone "minor back surgery" at Stanford Medical Center on Wednesday, and was recovering at the hotel. The cause of death has not been released.

My Two Cents

As an 80s child, who spent the majority of the 90s as a teenager, I have had the privilege of watching a lot of his work. I loved him in "Big," even though he was Tom Hank's character's adversary. His appearance in the first "Sharknado" movie a few years back showed he hadn't missed a beat. He also appeared on Battlestar Galactica!

Heard was a true actor legend and he will be missed. My prayers are with his loved ones during this time.
