Right-winger senators compare food stamp recipients to "wild animals."

Before I begin, I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I registered as an Independent, since I find faults with both of the major parties.
My major beef is with the Republicans, and the following story is a classic problem I have with the conservative Republicans.

Republicans have had a problem with the poor since the dawn of time. Most of these conservatives were probably born with a silver spoon in their hand, and never suffered a setback.

In this day and age, many Americans are going through hard times and are down on their luck. Million of Americans are on the Food Stamp program. Most of the folks on the program have children to feed. Some of these folks get a lot of judgmental looks from cashiers when they swipe their SNAP card to pay for their food items, which can be quite uncomfortable.

In Minnesota and South Dakota, GOP Senators are comparing food stamp recipients to wild animals.

Dr Annette Bosworth, GOP bonehead of South Dakota, posted the following photo on her Facebook:

Seriously?! So, the millions of elderly folks, disabled folks, families, and veterans that are on the SNAP program are wild animals?
So, she would rather have all those innocent people starve to death? Wow. Does she not have a soul in her body? What the fuck is her problem? Has she never suffered a setback a day in her life? Or has she always been privileged?

Well, "Dr." Bosworth addressed the backlash she received from the above post. She said that she has suffered "setbacks." According to Raw Story, she had to sell most of her belongings to keep her medical practice open (most of her patients were the poor).
Let that sink in for a minute.
So, she likens SNAP recipients to wild animals, but, she sold her belongings to keep her medical practice open so she can treat the poor. It's almost as if she makes money off of making the poor suffer. She's almost like the female Dr. Kevorkian.

The reason why I am writing about this is because I am in the middle of a personal setback. I am dealing with a serious back injury. Being unable to work, I had no other choice but to enroll into Medicaid and the Food Stamp program. It's embarrassing, but, for me, it's about survival. My back injury requires a major surgery, which is scheduled for next month. Being on the system isn't a lifestyle choice for me. It's degrading. But, I had no other choice. After my back heals, I will be going back into the working force, and getting off of state assistance. But, I won't end my fight for those who are on Medicaid and the SNAP program.
Yes, there ARE folks who abuse the system, and those folks deserve to be punished. But, the good, honest folks should NOT have to pay for it. The conservatives have been grouping all Medicaid and SNAP recipients together into the abuser column for decades and it has to STOP. The bullshit needs to end.

Conservatives, you need to cut the shit. Not everyone in the system is a moocher. You know how tough the economy is. Finding a job is not that easy. Think about it from your neighbor's perspective. What if you just got laid off, and you had 4 children to feed? What if your husband couldn't work because he was disabled, or a veteran who was suffering PTSD and his benefits weren't enough to even pay the bills? What choice would you have?

Get all the facts straight before you judge.
