ABC Family cancels "Chasing Life," and my thoughts on the cancelation.

There aren't many shows on TV that have a beautiful storyline and an amazing cast. For two seasons, we had that in "Chasing Life."

Chasing Life is a show about a young lady (April) who finds out she has cancer. We watch as this April juggles her work life, family life, personal life, and cancer treatments.
ABC Family recently aired the season two finale, which left viewers with a sh*t ton of unanswered questions. A few days later, they up and cancel the show. The reasoning behind canceling the series? They want to make room for reality TV and Nicki Minaj. Seriously.

I don't know what is in the water over at ABC Family HQ, but canceling a good show in order to back trashy shows and trashy wanna-be rappers is just bad business. If we wanted to watch trashy reality shows and bad entertainers, we'd watch E! and MTV. Chasing Life was the best show ABC Family had (Yes, even better than Pretty Little Liars).

I have been paying close attention to social media, and everyone is in an uproar over this cancellation. I first heard about the cancellation on Italia Ricci (April on Chasing Life)'s Facebook fanpage. Thousands of fans stormed ABC Family's Facebook page, expressing their outrage. Today, Italia Ricci posted a photo of what she is up to on her 2nd day of unemployment. My favorite part of the photo was the slight extension of her middle finger (get it girl!).

Petitions are already going around. However the main petition to get Chasing Life back online is this one:

People are also contacting folks at Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu to see if they would be interested in picking up the show.

Dear ABC Family,
Canceling this show was a bad move on your part. Have you any idea how much this show impacted people? I read some of the comments that were posted shortly after you canceled this show. Some of the Chasing Life viewers were going through their own cancer diagnosis. Some were as young as April Carver. This show helped these individuals realize that they aren't alone. April Carver was that kindred spirit that they looked up to.
If you people spent five minutes out of your money baths and on social media reading what people are saying (about how much the show has impacted their lives), you wouldn't have canceled this show. Shame on you!
