Praying before eating can get you 15% off in North Carolina

We all know how insanely expensive it is to go out to eat. It seems like each time you go out, your favorite meal seems to be creeping up in price. It's out of control.
Well, if you're in North Carolina, you might be able to get 15% off of your bill. There's just one catch: You have to pray before your meal.

Mary's Gourmet Diner in Winston-Salem, NC has been giving their praying customers 15% off of their bill for the past four years.
Why are we just hearing about it now? Well, a customer that was on a business trip, Jordan Smith, had posted her receipt on Facebook, and it showed her 15% discount for praying before her meal. Since posting the picture, it's spread like wildfire.

The owner of the restaurant, Mary Haglund, had this to say about the discount program:
"For me, every plate of food is a gift. And I never take that for granted and when I see someone in a restaurant honoring their gratefulness at my table . . . it touches my heart."

I don't identify as a Christian, and I don't identify as an atheist. I don't really have a label. I pray when I pray. I rarely pray before a meal. I think the last time I prayed before eating was last year over the holiday season.
If I ever find myself in Winston-Salem, I may try this praying thing. Save myself 15% on my meal, then go buy a six-pack with my savings, and go to the beach. Praise G-Dawg!
