What's with all the hype surrounding the iPhone 6?

The new iPhone 6 has made its debut into the world, and people around the world have camped outside their electronic store of choice just for this new phone.
Perth, Australia is home to the first person to buy the iPhone 6. The individual was so excited to have the phone, that he dropped it on the ground when trying to get it out of the box. Luckily for him, the ridiculously expensive phone is still functional.

Here in the states, sales for the coveted phone started at 8am on Friday morning. Retailers across the country are reporting long lines in front of their stores.
In my state, a local mall reported up to 375 customers waiting in line for the iPhone 6. One customer had been waiting since Thursday afternoon.

Now, I know that some of you are fans of the Apple iPhone, but I do not understand the whole hype over the device. My boyfriend had an iPhone and he said that it was garbage. He now has a Samsung Galaxy and he loves it.
Also, why would people wait in line for hours (even days) for just a phone? It doesn't seem sensible to me. In the 1990s when the original Star Wars trilogy was re-released, I waited in line. It was a long wait, but it was worth it. I wasn't alive when episodes 4 and 5 came out, and I was only 1 years old when episode 6 came out. I wanted to have that opportunity to see such an iconic trilogy in the theater.
As for waiting in line for a phone, it seems like a waste of time and money. Don't people have jobs, or did they take the day off just to buy a fucking phone? There are millions of people in this country that could care less about the phone and would rather work than take the day off to wait in some stupid line.

If you are one of the folks eagerly wanting an iPhone 6, I will make it easy for you. Click below to take a look at the new phone. See if it's worth your mortgage, food bill, and student loan payments:
