Against Me! singer Laura Jane Grace burns birth certificate at NC concert.

Laura Jane Grace kicked off her band's concert in Durham, NC by burning her birth certificate onstage. This was in response of North Carolina's HB2 law. A North Carolina concertgoer recorded the event, which has since gone viral.
In the video, Laura Jane Grace, who is transgender, came out on stage and announced that she would burn her birth certificate. Before burning the birth certificate, she said: "Goodbye, gender."

Laura Jane Grace hinted last month that she was planning to create an event that would serve as a protest of the discriminatory law. She wanted everyone to know that trans people aren't scared, and trans men and women aren't going anywhere.

My Two Cents

I absolutely love this woman for what she did. It was a bold and very beautiful statement that she isn't what is on the birth certificate. That isn't who she is, and that isn't what she was. The person you saw on stage was the real deal, take it or leave it. I think Laura Jane Grace did something fantastic for the trans community. She is a true role model and, even though I am not trans, I would have loved to have seen that in person. That is something that will stick with you forever, whether you're trans or an ally.

Why TNT did not air the season premiere of "The Last Ship."

TNT decided to postpone the season 3 premiere due to the tragedy that took place in Orlando, Florida in the early hours of Sunday morning. At least 50 people died, and another 53 were injured when a gunman opened fire at a popular club in Florida. Season 3 of "The Last Ship" was to open with gunshots being fired at a nightclub full of patrons. TNT has not announced a new premiere date for the season premiere of "The Last Ship." My Two Cents I am really glad that TNT had enough respect to postpone the premiere. Actor Wil Wheaton criticizes Paul Ryan's response to Texas Church shooting.

Ryan tweeted for a "call to prayer." Wheaton subsequently posted the following in response: "The murdered victims were in a church. If prayers did anything, they'd still be alive, you worthless sack of s**t." After receiving a TON of backlash, Wheaton tried to explain his tweet in a series of later tweets: "Hey, real and actual people of faith: I hear you. I apologise for insulting you, in my rage at Paul Ryan's refusal to address gun violence." He also stated that Paul Ryan is someone who exploits his faith by hiding behind his words without conducting actual good deeds.
