Connecticut man arrested for sunbathing nude in his own backyard

Apparently, doing things in the privacy of your own home is now forbidden in the state of Connecticut.

A New Canaan man was arrested last month after neighbors complained that he had been sunbathing naked for several years. Sixty year old Jonathan Cleworth lives next door to a 3 story, multi-family building, and it was his neighbor who called the police on him. The 80 year old neighbor told police that he was "tired of Cleworth's behavior."
When police arrived at Cleworth's residence, they found him sunbathing nude. The backyard had sheets up to block anyone's view of Cleworth sunbathing nude. Police theorize that the neighbor must live on a higher floor in the 3 story building. Another neighbor said that she never thought about calling the police before, but she had to make the call so he would stop sunbathing nude.

Cleworth was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 11.

A local news reporter decided to ask Facebook fans if people should be allowed to sunbathe nude in the backyard. Many people said that it was classless and disgusting because neighbors can see them.

In my opinion, I think people SHOULD be allowed to sunbathe in the comfort of their own backyard. If neighbors are going to be peeping Toms, they are the ones who need help.
Mr. Cleworth had barriers up to protect himself from onlookers. The neighbors on the higher floors made an effort to see what he was doing. They peeped on him like the perverts they are. They violated his privacy and now he is all over the news as the "naked old guy." That isn't fair.
It's like neighbors looking into windows and watching homeowners walking around naked and/or having sex. It's a violation of privacy. I could understand if the guy was sunbathing nude in a park, but he was in his own backyard. If he's comfortable sunbathing naked or walking around naked, who are his neighbors to judge? If you don't like it, don't look! Simple as that.

The naked body isn't meant to be objectified. It isn't shameful nor disgusting. We were all born naked. Shit, I've been known to walk around naked in the house (I don't make a habit out of it though). Like I said, if people don't like nudity, then they don't need to look.

I feel bad for Mr. Cleworth. It sucks that he has to deal with asshole neighbors who are also perverts.
