Woman gains World Record Status for catching the most bridal bouquets.

A woman in Utah just became a world record holder for catching an astounding 46 bouquets. Jamie Jackson has been catching bouquets since 1996, and after catching her 46th bouquet, she submitted an application to Guiness World Records, with the documentation to prove it.
The previous record was held by Stephanie Monyak, who caught 11 bouquets.
Jackson told officials that she has attended around 100 weddings, and she has a special strategy for being the bouquet catcher.
"My strategy is to be right up in the front because a lot of time the brides don't know how far they are going to throw it. A lot of times it will hit a ceiling, it'll hit a chandelier ... I've had many, many catches where I've had to jump for it. And I've hit little kids by accident."
She said that 44 out of the 46 couples who married are STILL married. She credits herself for the longetivity of their marriages. Those in her circle believe that Jackson is just staying single in order to catch bouquets (if that's the case, she is an idiot).

My Two Cents:
Folks, I don't want to ridicule this woman's lifestyle, but does she not have a hobby that makes sense? I mean, how can catching a bouquet 46 times be something to be proud of? This is one of the reasons why I can't stand some people in my gender. I've been to a few weddings in my lifetime, and I've seen women go bat sh*t crazy when the bride announces that she is throwing the bouquet. Somehow people believe that if a woman catches the bouquet, she will be next to get married. Let's stop kidding ourselves, because Ms. Jackson is walking proof that that fairytale is utter bullsh*t.
I may be part of the minority, but I'd rather be at the bar nursing a glass of red wine, than be collecting bruises trying to catch the bouquet. At least I won't be risking injury.

Weddings itself cause women to go all bridezilla, and I don't understand what the big deal is. Shouldn't weddings be about the couple getting married, and two families coming together? Why do people make a big deal planning an extravagent wedding? Ever heard of eloping at city hall, and just throwing a kick a** reception? Come on people!!
Then there is catching the bouquet. An extreme "sporting" event that poses a high risk of injury. I think we should start a new tradition: whomever wins "Cards Against Humanity," drunkenly, should be the next to get married.

Don't get me wrong, I am not some bitter unmarried woman. I've been with a great guy for 3 years (next month). Marriage isn't on the radar, but I consider him my partner in life. We don't need some piece of paper to show how much we love each other. Plus, who wants to be responsible for idiots like Ms. Jackson getting hurt trying to catch flowers?
The moral of this story is, the "catching the bouquet" 46 times should NOT be celebrated. I just find it a little sad. Ms. Jackson should get a less damaging (and less stupid) hobby, like knitting or painting. Those hobbies are fun! Hell, she can collect vinyl. That was a hobby of mine years ago (and I'm STILL on the hunt for albums from "The Runaways").

Okay, rant done. What do you think about this woman? Is she sad? Or do you think that catching the bouquet 46 times is friggin awesome (don't worry, I won't bite your head off if you praise her. All opinions are welcome).
